This is the Judgement of the Gambia Supreme Court on the Public Order Act delivered 23 November 2017 by Chief Justice Hassan Jallow. Mr. Ousainou Darboe, the Secretary General of the United Democratic Party (UDP) and currently the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of The Gambia, with nineteen members of the UDP are the plaintiffs in the suit against the Inspector General of Police, the Director General of the National Intelligence Agency and Attorney General of The Republic of The Gambia. The plaintiffs sought a writ  to declare the Section 5 of Public Order Act null and void for it its supposedly unconstitutionality because they claimed it violates their right to freedom of assembly under Section 25 of the Constitution of The Gambia. PUBLIC ORDER ACT JUDGMENT
